Last Final Project Progress Update.

Hi again, this time, i'm going to explain some of the problems i'm having as well as what i've done since the last time.

  • Most tools still work. I'm not sure about leaving zoom tool in because it's really not necessary in my opinion.
  • Shortcuts are now available. all tools have been given a shortcut as long as save, new, etc.
  • I can save the image on to the server and put it in the database so that the user can see their latest photos.
  • login functions are working correctly with no glitches.
  • changeable colour from any tool also size.
  • able to change canvas size with the maximum of 800 x 500

At the moment I'm working on the forgotten password page. I want the user to receieve the email with the password in their inbox. i have all the functions ready so now its a piece of cake. :)

The problem i'm having at the moment is still about moving objects. I can move an object within the canvas using the easeljs library but everything else disappears when i move the object. I've been trying to fix that for a long time but it's just tempting me to not do it at all!!

But I'm nearly done. I'll finish the forgot password and the shapes tonight and hopefully work out the canvas problem before the presentation.

Until then, take care!

Final Project Progress Update

The past couple weeks have been really fun. I have been working on it and fortunately getting everything together. I will list the progress I am having:

  • Choose different brushes to stamp the images.
  • Upload any image from the web.
  • Save the canvas to your device (only on firefox at the moment but i'm trying to find other ways.)
  • Choose different shapes (Circles, rectangles or triangles) to draw on the canvas.
  • Choosing colours for general drawing. (just need a bit of tweaking until it works perfectly)

So as I mentioned above, I can upload any image from the web onto the canvas. But I want to try and figure out how to post the user's own image. I think I can do the file uploading via PHP onto the server and maybe get the address of the image and use the same method of how I upload the images from the web.

As for saving the canvas, I'm still trying to figure out how to do it on other browsers but the javascript library I downloaded seems to be having trouble. It says it should work for most browsers that support canvas but I'm not sure what's going on. I might have to find another javascript library...

My plan for next week is to fix the problems i'm having right now and to get most of the tools functional so that i can work on the menu part of it - saving, uploading, opening existing documents, etc.

Until next week... Take care everyone.
